Row of Life tells the remarkable story of Angela Madsen — a Marine Corps veteran, three-time Paralympian, and fourteen-time Guinness World Record holder whose life was defined by resilience and determination. After a botched surgery during her military service left her paraplegic and facing homelessness, Angela rebuilt her life through adaptive sports, eventually becoming one of the most accomplished ocean rowers in the world.
At sixty years old, Angela sets out on her most ambitious challenge yet: rowing solo and unsupported across the Pacific Ocean from Los Angeles to Hawaii, a journey of more than 2,500 miles. Equipped with a specially designed 20-foot rowing boat and enough supplies to survive up to one hundred days at sea, she embarks on what she intends to be her final and most daring expedition.
As Angela battles the vastness of the ocean, the film also reveals the quiet strength of her wife, Deb, who follows the voyage from land, supporting Angela’s dream despite the immense risks involved. When the journey takes an unexpected turn, Row of Life becomes a powerful story about courage, love, and the extraordinary drive to pursue one’s dreams against all odds.
